34. 블랙컨슈머
미국에서 black consumer 라고 말하면 위험할 수 있음.
인종에 대해서 이야기 한다고 오해받을 수 있음.

35. 미국 States
미국 사람들이 편하네 미국에 대해서 말할 때는 보통 the States / the US라고 함

37. 번거롭다 Hassle
cumbersome은 캐쥬얼하게 쓰기에는 고급용어. 크고 무거워서 다르기 힘들다는 뜻도 있음.
Getting a new passport can be a hassle. 새 여권 받는 거 번거롭지.
Changing my car's oil can be such a hassle. 자기 차 오일 직접 가는 거 정말 번거로워요.
Doing dishes by hand is too much of a hassle for me.
설거지 일일이 하는 거 나한테 너무 번거로운데. (명사로 쓰임)
I like all-inclusive resorts because they're hassle-free.
왜냐면 번거롭지 않으니까.
38. nerd 범생이
1. 뭔가를 굉장히 좁고 깊게 아는 사람
공포영화 덕후, 밀덕, 블랙핑크 덕후 등등
You're such a Kpop nerd.
I'm a language nerd.
2. 범생이 패션을 한 사람
안경 셔츠 서스펜더 스웨터 등등
I've always been into nerd fashion. 나 너드 패션에 빠진지 꽤 됐어.
I like to go for the nerd style. 나 너드 스타일 좋아해.
Nerd fashion is all the rage these days.

41. 비판하고 싶은데 공개적으로 당당하게
말하기 힘들 때 기침하는 속임수를 씀.
기침하면서 하고싶은 말 섞어서 하는 것.
문자에서도 *cough*cough*붙여서 쓸 수 있음.

42. 눈치주다
눈치의 중력이 다른 미국.
The store owner hinted that it was time to leave.
가게 주인이 나갈 시간이라고 눈치 줬어.
He hinted that it was time for us to go.
친구가 빨리 나가자고 눈치 줬어.
My girlfriend has been hinted that she wants to break up with me.
여자친구가 헤어지자고 눈치 주는 것 같아.
My boss has been hinting that he wants to fire me.
사장님이 나 자르려고 눈치 주는 것 같아.
Kelly has been giving him hints that she wants to date him.

43. whatnot 기타등등
생각없이 의식 흐름대로 말하다보면 갑자기 말문이 막히고
어떻게 문장을 끝낼지 모르겠을 때
'어제 밥먹고 청소하고 ~~ 뭐 그랬어.'
I scrubbed my toilet, washed the dishes and whatnot.
나 화장실 청소도 하고 설거지도 하고 뭐 그랬어.
My cat keeps shedding scratching the furniture and whatnot.
우리 고양이는 털도 빠지고 가구도 막 긁고 그래.
We went to the mall, had lunch, bought some new clothes and whatnot.

Frank's always complaining about his girlfriend and whatnot.
프랭크는 항상 여자친구에 대해서 불평하고 뭐 그래.
44. 알겠습니다. Okay 말고 다른 표현
1. 받은 부탁이나 명령을 진행하겠다는 뉘앙스
I'm on it.
Would you mind taking out the trash for me?
I'm on it.
2. 받은 부탁이나 명령을 접수했다는 뉘앙스
You got it.
Call Billy and tell him he's fired.

55. BBQ
쓸 때는 비비큐라도 발음은 barbecue라고 해야함.
X-mas를 발음할 때 크리스마스라고 읽는 것 처럼.
Let's go get some BBQ! 우리 바비큐 먹으러 가자.
I know a really good BBQ place.
